Living at your new college? Returning to college from home? Here's the packing/shopping list.

The Move-In List

Bed (If not provided)

Bedding Accessories

Sheets

Pillows

Comforter

Mattress Pad (it does wonders)

Posters, pictures, decorations for the room

Toileteries

Shampoo

Body Wash

Soap

Towels (Big and small)

Toothbrush/paste

Personal Items (Deodorant, cologne, perfume, lotion)

Etc. (Contact case/solution, etc.)

Electronics

Surge protector (can't live without it, so get a good one, or two)

Power adapters for all your electronic needs

Cords (USB, power, etc.)

Laptop (All college kids have one, don't be left out. LOL)

iPod/MP3 player (Purely optional, but again, everyone's got one, or two.)

Cell Phone (no landline in most housing complexes. Cellphone is way better anyways.

Thumb/USB drives (1GB will do for most students, 2 or 4 GB to be safe)

Digital Camera (capture those magical college moments, you will miss them later)

Alarm Clock (for those grueling 9AM classes-read: nap times)

Speakers

Academic Materials

Desk, chair (if not provided)

Pencil (#2) and Eraser

Pen

White outs

Highlighters

Push pins, paper clips, stapler, etc.

Books (Text and reading)

Transcripts, scores (Important academics documents)

File Folder (to keep important documents)

Clothing

2 - 4 weeks worth of clothing (Unless you are planning to live there for more than one year)

T shirts

Shorts, pants

Buttoned shirts

Sweaters

Formal Suit (jacket, trouser, tie, shirt: black/white/gray)

Business Casual (Buttoned shirt, trouser, tie: colorful)

Swimming trunks

Socks, underwear

Bathroom robe (optional)

Laundry Basket

Coins (for the laundromat)
